Through a mutual respect for all things creative and a love of art & architecture, we formed The Home Companies in 2004. As the business has grown, it has gone from a small boutique real estate firm to a full-service residential design/build company with real estate services. We touch every aspect of the home. Our team works together to ensure every step of our clients’ experience is a positive one. Whether creating beautifully renovated rooms or finding you your dream home, we deliver the benefits of personalized, one on one service tailored to fit your individual needs.

MARIUS TATARUNAS
Owner/GeneralContractor/
Managing Broker
Marius’ initial experience in the construction/real estate industry came from flipping houses in Cleveland, Ohio. Marius moved to Chicago in 1997 and continued to dabble in real estate and remodeling. Buying condos, rehabbing them, and selling them in the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park neighborhoods with much success. From there he got his real estate license and was quickly named Rookie of the Year.
As he continued to expand his real estate network, clients constantly asked him for renovation advice. Eventually leading him to get his general contractor’s license. Not finding what he wanted from typical brokerage firms, he decided to create a company that would be his clients' go-to resource for all things “home.” As his reputation grew so did his clientele.
Clients appreciate Marius’ exceptional craftmanship, his ability to problem solve and think outside the box as he builds them welcoming environments regardless of space.

AMY PEACOCK
Owner / Principal
Amy brings a diverse and unique background to her interiors. From her days in NYC where she was a producer in the film & television industry and then branding & events with Kate Spade, Amy has always loved the many facets of design. She credits working side by side with creative genius, Andy Spade, as having a huge influence on her design aesthetic today.
Fast forward, never one to shy away from adventure (Amy is a risk taker at heart) when approached by her now-husband, Marius, to go into business together, she leapt at the chance to explore yet another avenue of design.

Her approach to design speaks to her love of fine art, where she finds her inspiration. As a result, her designs are multidimensional, blending old
with new.
Amy believes in creating livable spaces that deeply connect and speak to her clients’ needs. The result is spaces that meet both form and function and are beautiful to live in.

LORI FACAS
Lead Broker
Lori began her professional career in the Promotional Marketing industry, where she quickly excelled and rose to be one of the top Chicago restaurant marketers. After 10 years in the marketing industry, Lori made the leap to residential real estate and has been working as a real estate agent since 2006.
As a long-time resident of Chicago, Lori combines her love of the city and its Architecture with her knowledge of the downtown residential market. Establishing record-breaking prices for condo unit sales and finding the best deal for her clients have been the mainstay of her career and the backbone of her success.
Lori’s lengthy personal experience in condo and townhome remodeling provides clients with a rare vantage point for assessing a property’s unrealized value and potential. This perspective helps her buyers to find the best deal, and her sellers maximize the potential of their home when listing. Her passion for real estate is evident to all those who interact with Lori, it is this passion which continues to grow her network of satisfied clients.

SHAWN WIGLE
Lead Stylist
With a career background in both luxury furnishings and residential realty, Shawn brings an eye for color, proportion, and material as well as a keen sense of what adds value in the marketplace.
A life-long Francophile, Shawn takes great inspiration from the architecture of Paris and Lyon and the "joie de vivre" of French culture generally. An avid collector of beautiful and fanciful items that make a home's interior come to life, Shawn accentuates projects with functional and alluring decor that reflects the personality and lifestyle of the homeowner.
Focusing on the finishing touches, Shawn likes working with what someone has, and adding items if needed to "pull the look together". Styling for one room, a whole house, or a photo shoot, her goal is to create the most aesthetically pleasing environment possible.
